CAINE (Computer Aided Investigative Environment) is a GNU / Linux LiveCD mode created by Giancarlo Giustini as a project of Computer Forensics (Digital Forensics) for Security Research Center (SIRC), with the support of the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia.
CAINE The project is not intended as a new forensic tool or framework for collecting them, as this type of distributions already exist. CAINE novelty proposed as a new user-friendly environment for all these tools . It also introduces important new features that aim to fill the void of interoperability across different forensic tools , as it provides a uniform graphical interface that guides digital investigators during the acquisition and analysis of electronic evidence, and provides a semi -Automatic for the documentation and reporting and results.
